About me
I’m Sam Kirk, a British translator living in Barcelona. My name for the business comes from the way I work: Specialised, Precise, On-time Translation.
English is my mother tongue. I studied French and Spanish at Coventry University, spent my Erasmus year at the University of Oviedo and now live in Barcelona.
I learned the trade inside translation companies, translating and proofreading technical documentation and then managing projects. Along the way I was project lead for annual reports, apps and websites for BBVA, Bankinter and CaixaBank, and financial translation became my speciality.
Since 2018 I’ve worked as a freelance translator, proofreader and subtitler. I use memoQ, Trados Studio and Xbench, along with translation tools I build myself to check terminology and consistency.
