Who is responsible for your data
Sam Kirk (TraduSpot), NIF Y1383978J, Avinguda d'Alvarez de Castro 52, 2-1, 08901 Barcelona. Email: skirk@traduspot.com.
What data I collect
Your email address, to sign you in with a one-time code.
Your billing details (name, company, tax ID, address), to issue invoices.
The documents you upload and the translations I deliver, to do the work you order.
Order and payment history, and messages you send me.
Technical data such as your IP address in security logs, to protect accounts against misuse.
Why, and on what legal basis
To quote, carry out and deliver the translations you order (performance of a contract).
To issue invoices and keep accounting records (legal obligation).
To keep the website and accounts secure (legitimate interest).
The quote itself is calculated in your browser: your documents are only uploaded when you book. The one exception is last year’s documents, if you add them to lower the price: their text is sent to my server (Hostinger, in the EU) to be aligned with their translation, is kept in memory only, and is deleted as soon as the alignment is done. To suggest published translations you can follow, your browser sends my server short numeric fingerprints of your sentences, never their text: all they show is which sentences of those translations are the same as or similar to yours, and they aren’t kept. Bilingual files and TMX you add are read in your browser and aren’t uploaded: if you book, only the translation units that match your files are sent with your order.
Who else processes your data
Hosting and email: Hostinger, on servers in the European Union.
Card payments: Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never reach this website.
Translation and quality-check tools: machine translation and AI services (currently Google and Anthropic), used under business terms that don’t allow your text to be used for training. You can opt out when you order.
Some of these providers may process data outside the EU under the safeguards required by the GDPR (adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses).
I never sell or share your data or documents for marketing.
How long I keep it
Documents and translations: deleted 90 days after delivery, unless you ask me to keep them for future work.
Your translation memory with me (the units of your previous translations that matched your files, updated with my final translations, so I can quote your next jobs): until you delete it from your account or ask me to.
Billing and order records: as long as tax and accounting law requires (currently up to six years).
Your account: until you ask me to delete it.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, or to receive it in a portable format, by writing to skirk@traduspot.com.
If you think your data has been mishandled, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
