Terms of service
Last updated: October 2026
1. Who provides the service
Translations ordered on traduspot.com are provided by Sam Kirk (TraduSpot), NIF Y1383978J, Avinguda d'Alvarez de Castro 52, 2-1, 08901 Barcelona.
2. Quotes
Quotes are calculated automatically from the number of words in your documents, at the rate for the subject you choose. Repeated text, and text similar to earlier text or to a previous version you upload, is charged at the reduced rate shown in the quote.
Word counts for PDFs, scans and photos are estimates. I check them before starting. If the real count is more than 15% higher than the quote, I’ll contact you before starting and you can either accept the new price or cancel with a full refund.
3. Orders and payment
Your order is confirmed when your payment is received or, for bank transfers, when I confirm it by email.
Prices are shown before VAT. VAT and, for Spanish businesses, IRPF withholding are calculated at checkout based on your details.
If you choose to pay a deposit, the balance must be paid before you can download the translation.
Card payments are processed by Stripe.
4. Reservations without the final file
You can reserve my time, as a company or as an individual, before the final document is ready, with a draft or an estimated word count. The price shown is an estimate; the final price is calculated on the final file.
To reserve, you pay a deposit: the percentage of the estimated price shown when you reserve. It is deducted from the final price when you book the final file.
If you cancel the reservation or don’t go ahead with the job, the deposit is kept as a cancellation fee. If you reserved as a consumer, you can cancel within 14 days of reserving (the day you paid the deposit) and I refund the deposit in full: this is your right of withdrawal (section 6). If I cancel, or can’t deliver within the reserved time, I refund the deposit in full.
The expected date and the estimated delivery date are approximate. The delivery date is confirmed when you book the final file.
5. Delivery
Delivery dates count working days in Catalonia. Translations are delivered by 6 pm (Spanish time) on the date shown, as a download from your account.
If something outside my control could delay delivery, I’ll tell you as soon as I know and you may cancel with a refund for any work not yet done.
6. Right of withdrawal (consumers)
If you order as a consumer you have 14 days to withdraw from the contract. By asking me to start straight away, you agree that the right of withdrawal ends once the translation has been delivered. If you withdraw before then, you’ll pay only for the part of the work already done. For a reservation, the 14 days run from the day you reserve, and the deposit is refunded in full (section 4).
To withdraw, email skirk@traduspot.com.
7. Quality and corrections
Translations are done by me, into my native English. If anything in a translation needs correcting, tell me within 30 days of delivery and I’ll correct it free of charge. Changes to the original text after you order are quoted separately.
I don’t provide sworn translations.
8. Confidentiality
I treat every document as confidential and I’m happy to sign your confidentiality agreement. Files are deleted 90 days after delivery unless you ask me to keep them.
9. Liability
My liability for any order is limited to the price paid for it, except where the law does not allow such a limit. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Applicable law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Consumers may bring proceedings in the courts of their place of residence.
